OUR STORY
What started with the passion for helping families navigate the challenges of autism has grown into a foundation built on inclusion , education, and community. Building Hope for Autism is a Kansas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2019, by Paul Barnds and Dr. Shawn Sabin. Barnds and Sabin witnessed firsthand as they loved and cared for family members with autism. With the support of Executive Director Mauria Stonestreet and an active Board of Directors, the couple built the foundatio fostering inclusion, connection, and support for individuals with autism and their families in the Kansas City area.
OUR MISSION
Building Hope for Autism exists to empower individuals with autism and their families. At Building Hope for Autism, we believe every individual deserves the support they need to thrive.

Often times individuals on the autism spectrum use iPads to communicate. When someone graduates from high school their equipment does not leave with them, leaving the individual with no way to communicate at home or in the community. We want to help these families by gifting them 10 or more iPads, please consider donating.
